About Aroma’s Java and Gelato

Gretta and Rick Blankenship had a dream to open an ice cream and coffee shop for as long as they could remember. Ambitious and anxious, the two attended an Expo searching for just the right product to fulfill their dreams and stomachs…and so they found Gelato. Working diligently, two short years passed as the gelato and store plans were finalized. Their sons, Brad and Casey, spent many long days taste testing the java and gelato – a tough job. Then, in the summer of 2007, the Blankenship family was able to open their doors and share their dreams, hard work, and AROMAS!

There are a few places which offer Gelato but not actual Gelataria’s. We specialize in making gelato, and providing a place to sit and enjoy your gelato. We chose to place our business on the west side of Cincinnati. We grew up on the west side and we raised our family on the west side, and we live on the west side so the obvious choice was to keep our business on the west side. We have lots of eastside friends visiting us so maybe in the future we will open another Aroma’s on the eastside. We are striving to make new flavors and the sky is the limit. Cincinnati loves ice cream and so far they have loved the gelato.
